On the surface, Talkington presents itself as an idyllic enclave of community spirit, orderly civic tradition, and neighborly warmth. But behind closed council chambers, private dining clubs, and quiet handshakes, a tight-knit circle of local elites maintains an iron grip over the municipality’s economic and political future.

When a contentious municipal project threatens to upend the livelihoods of long-time residents, a series of unexamined past transactions comes to light. As questions are raised in town meetings, the polite veneer of governance falls away to reveal sharp intimidation tactics, political leverage, and calculated disinformation designed to enforce compliance.

Penned with Chris Okey Nnokwam’s incisive narrative tension and moral clarity, The Town of Talkington is a gripping political suspense novel. Grounded in the enduring standard of Fiction with Integrity, it delivers an unforgettable study of local governance, civic duty, and the courage needed of ordinary citizens that refuse to let their town be traded away for private ambition.
