Black History Month - About Tribute To Black History Giants: A Four-Part Series

Welcome to a special one-month series here at The Moral Observer.

History is rarely a straight line; it is a relay race. We run on tracks laid by those before us, and we carry batons we eventually must pass to those behind us.

As we enter February, my heart is full of a specific kind of gratitude. We often hear the phrase “standing on the shoulders of giants,” but this month, I want to do more than just repeat the sentiment. I want to explore the specific foundations these giants built for us.

I am who I am because other people were brave. I walk through doors because other people broke the doors down. I speak my truth because other people refused to be silenced.

In this series, I will be sharing a weekly tribute (mainly on Tuesdays) to different types of “Giants” that have shaped our world and my own journey; from the courtrooms to the laboratories, from the printing presses to the church basements — their legacy is our map. This series is an invitation to reflect on the shoulders we stand on—and the legacy we are now building.

Here are what you can expect over the four weeks of the Black History Month

  • Week 1: The Legal Minds (The Strategy) – Honoring the architects of justice who used the law to demand equality.
  • Week 2: The Truth-Tellers (The Media & Literature) – Celebrating the voices that captured our narrative and shifted the world’s conscience.
  • Week 3: The Quiet Disruptors (The Grassroots) – Remembering the organizers that showed true power often moves from the ground up.
  • Week 4: The Modern Pioneers (The Tech & Science Giants) – Applauding the innovators that reached for the stars and broke the digital ceiling.

“We are not just observers of history; we are the present authors of it.”

Keep it going. As we move through these weeks, I want to hear from you. Who are the Giants in your life? Let’s honor them together this month

Black history isn’t just a look backward; it’s also a look at the strength we carry into the future. I invite you to join us in this reflection.

Whether you are looking for inspiration to kick-start your career, strategy to help your community, or simply a moment of reflection on how far we’ve come — I hope these posts serve as a reminder that your excellence is a continuation of a much larger story.

May God help us and shower us all with both His blessings and the things that make life sweet.
